The world became a brighter place on April 13, 1944, when Karlynn was born in Pasadena, California to Charlotte Lucile Mann and Karl Robert Regnolds. She attended John Muir High School. She married the love of her life Lee Wayne Smith on January 5, 1963. Karlynn worked the hardest job of them all, being a stay-at-home mother. This was exceptionally hard if you know any of her 5 children.
Karlynn was a fun loving, kind hearted, and caring lady who enjoyed beating any challenger at bingo and cards, but her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family.
Karlynn was well-renowned for her inability to laugh without crying, her ability to see the good in everything and everyone, and her famous chocolate chip cookies, deviled eggs, macaroni salad, and many more speciality dishes that she perfected in a "one butt kitchen".
She is preceded in death by her parents Charlotte and Karl and husband Lee. She will rest peacefully on top of Lee because she always said her favorite spot in the world was on top of him.
Karlynn is survived by brother Michael Regnolds, sister-in-law Joy DeStefano, daughter Shanna Valenzuela and son-in-law Raul Valenzuela, son Troy Smith and daughter-in-law Shannon Smith, son Todd Smith and daughter-in-law Sandra Smith, son Kim Smith and daughter-in-law Roberta Smith, and son Randy Smith and daughter-in-law Stefanie Smith.
She leaves behind her 11 beloved grandchildren Justin Smith, Jared Valenzuela (wife Nicole), Austin Smith, Ashley Valenzuela, McKenna Smith, Ethan Smith, Kylie Smith, Jessalyn Smith, Caden Smith, Emilee Smith, and Derek Smith, along with great-grandson Max Valenzuela.
A visitation for Karlynn will be held Monday, May 7, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Eternal Valley Memorial Park Mortuary, 23287 North Sierra Hwy, Newhall, CA 91321. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, May 8, 2018 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, 23287 North Sierra Hwy, Newhall, CA 91321. Celebration of life will be held following the services at the Moose Lodge, 1800 Sierra Hwy, Santa Clarita, CA 91351.
She will be missed as a mother, sister, friend, and "Grammie".
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.eternalvalleymortuary.com for the Smith family.
