

Ken was born on September 9, 1921 and raised in Indiana where he met his wife, Betty. They were married on February 14, 1942. During their life together, they lived in western New York, Indiana, Ohio and Seattle before moving to Valencia in 1978.
Ken was a mechanical engineer who served in the army during WWII. After his discharge, he worked in the aerospace industry designing aircraft and developing new technologies including hovercraft transportation. He worked at Bell Aerospace where he was assigned to NASA in Houston, TX. There he worked in the LLTV (Lunar Landing Training Vehicle) Program. This work included training astronauts, including Neil Armstrong. He finished his career with Hydrolic Research in Valencia where they provided parts for the Space Shuttle.
Ken is survived by his sons, Randy and Rick; his wife, Barb; his grandchildren, Katie and Kenny; his great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Travis; his sisters, Leanna Farrell and Rose Hogue as well as many nieces and nephews. Ken's wife, Betty preceded him in death.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Oaks at Eternal Valley Mortuary in Newhall with the funeral service immediately following.
