Laurence Milton Blocker Sr.

Sunrise August 25, 1957 Sunset November 23, 2020

Laurence was born in Columbus, Ohio and relocated to

California at the age of three. He attended Hollywood High

School where he met his future wife, Cathy. He went on to

Wentworth Military Academy and North George College and

earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. He served

in active duty Marine Corps as enlisted and an officer, being

honorably discharged at the rank of 1st Lieutenant. But as we

all know, once a Marine always a Marine. As a civilian, Laurence

worked building planes at McDonnell Douglas, various positions

with FedEx, and refereeing High school basketball and volleyball.

He remained in security work both private and company affiliated

for the rest of his life.

Laurence is preceded in death by his mother Rita Blocker and

sister Shawna Morgan. He is survived by his wife of 35 years,

Cathy and their 4 children. Casi (Ahmir Sr), Laurence Jr. (Ashley)

Cameron, and Lanae. He has five grandchildren, Shawna, Ahmir Jr.,

Antoinette, Jemma and Teagan. His siblings, Sherri, Silvia, Shannon,

Sarita, and Aundray. As well as a large extended family of cousins,

nieces, nephews, and in laws. Countless friends from all factions of

his life called him their brother.

He will be missed, but he loved with all his heart, and was loved in

return.
