August 23, 1936 – January 5, 2026
Margaret Anne Coleman Warr, 89, a beloved matriarch and mother and a devoted disciple of Jesus Christ, passed away January 5, 2026. She was born in Pocatello Idaho, the third of eight children to Douglas Coleman and Doris McGuire. She is preceded in death by her parents and six of her siblings, Glen Coleman, Doris Tripp, Gary Coleman, Kaylene Webb, Cheri Tucker and she is survived by a sister Marilyn Holland of Las Vegas and Rick Colemen of South Carolina.
Margaret grew up in the Burley / Pocatello Idaho area learning the value of hard work. As a young child she began working on the family beet and potato farms. Her hard work eventually paid off, allowing her to earn enough money to buy her first car, a convertible, paving the way too many cherished memories with friends. She graduated from Heyburn High where she met the love of her life, Dean Warr. They married in1956 and together they built a beautiful and enduring legacy centered on faith and family having 5 children - Roger (Lisa) Warr, DeAnn (Todd) Longshore, Brian (Lisa) Warr, Kevin (Donna) Warr and Julie Warr. She was cherished by 18 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren (2 more to join 2026) who brought immense happiness to her life. Margaret’s greatest joy was her family. Her home was always open, and she was a constant source of love, wisdom and homemade treats.
Margaret was known for having the biggest heart and was always doing things for others. Whether through a prepared meal, a thoughtful note, or a heartfelt prayer, Margaret made everyone feel seen and heard. As a lifelong, active and faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints she lived her beliefs through consistent, quiet acts of kindness. She found profound purpose and joy in her sacred temple service of over 10 years. She was president of the women's organization on multiple occasions where she loved planning women's conferences and activities that were designed to strengthen women and families. She served with the young children, teaching them about Jesus. She also enjoyed serving in the boy scouts and on school/parent committees. She loved to sew and would often make matching outfits for the entire family. She had a sense of adventure and loved the outdoors. Yearly family vacations were always a favorite as she enjoyed fishing and camping, followed by family reunions and a yearly trip to the fair and rodeo. As the years went by the family began making memories by boating and houseboating. She loved to jet ski with the grandchildren. She loved attending and supporting all her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events and recitals. She was a true Dodger fan attending many games together with family over the years. Margaret was known for her sense of humor and her grateful heart. She was always the first one to fill a need or offer a kind word or smile and her life was a pattern of selfless giving. She was also a lifelong learner. She enjoyed taking classes at COC, learning the computer and real estate appraisal business where she worked with her husband as his typist/secretary. She enjoyed walking and exercising and trying the latest diet craze. She was fun loving, kind and above all had a deep love of her Savior Jesus Christ. She served in the local mission office, helping the young missionaries away from home. While there she created and published a monthly newsletter to share joy, fun and memories. She became a “mom” away from home for many of the young men and women.
She was truly an amazing woman, mother and friend. She will be missed, but her spirit and goodness will continue in all who knew her. One can only imagine the happy and joyous reunion that took place as she stepped to the other side to be welcomed by many family members and loved ones and to hear the Savior say, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant” Matthew 25:21 God be with you till we meet again Margaret.
