Mary Ellen Connors

Mary Ellen Connors age 82, passed into eternal life on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at home following several years of living with Alzheimer's Disease. She is predeceased by her loving and devoted spouse Bernard who cared for her with unmatched dedication and resolve during the early presentations of this dementia. Upon Bernie's sudden death in January of 2020, their three children Kevin, Meaghan and Ryan, rose to the occasion and continued the love and care initiated by their father.

Born in Syracuse, New York on April 26, 1941 to the late William and Mary Eileen Mills Ashmore, Mary graduated from Most Holy Rosary High School in 1959 as did her deceased husband Bernie in 1958. MHR was always held close to their hearts as it brought them together and where they were married in 1965. They were well known during those earlier years as the best on the school's dance floor.

Mary Ellen's survivors include her three children Kevin Connors (Rossana), Meaghan Connors Kerr (Brad) and Ryan Connors. Her six grandchildren Connor, Reilly and Kenna Kerr and Quinn, Teagan and Keira Connors were her greatest joys and Mary cherished every moment of being a Grandma. She is also survived by her five siblings Eileen (Neene) of San Francisco, CA, Kathleen of Manteca, CA, William (Karla) of Madison, Wisconsin and Patricia and Theresa Ashmore of Syracuse, New York. She also leaves behind five nephews, two nieces and two great nephews and great nieces.

A number of cousins across Canada, in Texas, North Carolina, Florida and Syracuse, New York also survive her with many fond memories of their shared childhood experiences and "antics" up north at the O'Neill family farm in Kemptville, Ontario Canada.

Mary's beloved sister Margo Ashmore Groger also predeceased her in January of 2000. For over 20 years Mary worked at GG Industries while Margo was at the helm of this once internationally successfully known enterprise. The two sisters' complementary personalities and work ethic were key reasons for the success, and both loved their roles.

A visitation for Mary Ellen will be held Thursday, November 9, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Eternal Valley Memorial Park and Mortuary 23287 North Sierra Highway, Newhall, CA 91321. A funeral mass will occur Friday, November 10, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church 23045 Lyons Ave, Santa Clarita, CA 91321. A committal service will follow the conclusion of the mass at Eternal Valley.
