1938 - 2012
Ollie Mae Howard, 73, a resident of Canyon Country since 1971, passed away on March 30, 2012, after losing a long battle against cancer.
Ollie was born September 8, 1938. Raised on a tobacco farm in North Carolina, she was close to her southern roots and a simpler way of life. She was a homemaker dedicated to her family and loved by all who met her. Her smile lit up a room, and her positive attitude, kindness, and love blessed everyone she met. She loved life, having family and friends around her, gardening, cooking, Bingo, playing the slots, and Elvis.
Ollie was preceded in death by her father James Edward Howard, her mother Annie Mae Howard, her sister Brenda Joyce Howard, and her brother Dock Edward Howard. Surviving her are her daughters, Vicki Lyn Brill and Jacqueline Gail Brill, and her grandson, Cody James Brill.
Her family wrote, “Ollie rests with God. We will continue to love and miss her here on earth, but we look forward to a reunion in Heaven.”
Open memorial services will be held Friday, April 6, 2012, at 2:00pm at the Chapel of the Oaks in Eternal Valley Memorial Park Mortuary, Newhall, California. Ollie will be laid to rest beside her family in Princeton Cemetery in Princeton, North Carolina on April 14, 2012.
