Ronnie & Joanne were my neighbors ,They were the Best neighbors . They helped me when my husband passed .Ronnie was always kind and would always say good morning he always had a smile on his face .He liked to joke a lot and watch TV westerns & The Dodger baseball game with his Wife . Joann I know I know you will miss him deeply.He is with God.

When Dad started getting older he retired from his job and soon after moved to Palmdale to be closer to me. Dad would still make his chili once in a while but stopped making it because it was too spicy. We started watching the Dodger games together and he would always be excited for baseball season to start. We took Dad and Mom to a Dodger game once. He loved it. We took them on a trip to Bishop and Dad really enjoyed the scenery but was ready to go back home. Dad started slowing down. This past year I would call him every morning. I miss those phone calls now. I could always ask my Dad anything and he knew the answer. Like a human Google. When I look back on all the photos of Dad I truly believe he lived a wonderful, long life. I will always keep the memories of my dad in my heart. I know Dad is in heaven now and he's probably making a batch of Cincinnati chili for Jesus. Love you and miss you Dad.

It’s hard to remember now when I was a little girl but I always felt that my dad loved me would always be there for me. I remember fun Christmases, birthdays, trips that he took us on. We would go to Florida, camping and fishing. One trip I remember we were driving in the mountains, my dad was singing to the country music playing on the radio and the moon was so big it looked like it was following us. Dad was always singing. I still remember an old folk song he would sing called Old King Cole. We always had a swimming pool and dad would swim. Dad loved visiting his family. There was always fun and laughter. Dad took us to church every Sunday. When we moved to California Dad managed condominiums. He loved living in Valencia. Dad loved my husband Steve and the next 45 years are filled with so many good memories like beach trips to Santa Barbara eating fish and sitting on the sand. Dad loved Santa Barbara and always said if he won the lottery he would buy a house there. If there was a birthday, World Series game, or just because dad was making chili we would drive down the canyon for dinner. Good times. Sometimes dad would add too many chilis and his forehead would have beads of sweat. He would laugh. Dad loved cherry pie. Dad was not an overly affectionate grandpa but he loved his grandson Ryan and enjoyed all of his five great-grandchildren. Even though he didn’t see them often he would try to remember their names and how they were spelled. Sometimes we all got together with Steve’s mom and dad and Dad enjoyed their company. Dad told me stories of how he was in the army at the end of WW2 stationed in Japan working in the post office, how he would hop on a train and ride to who knows where, how he worked for a circus once and when he was a young boy his dad owned a saloon and they lived above the saloon and he would have to walk thru the saloon to go to school.

Dear Ronnie, I'm sorry I couldn't be there for your funeral but I know you would understand. I'm glad I got to say good-bye to you and give you one last kiss. I know you loved me and I loved you. We will see each other again soon. Love Always, JoAnn.

I met Ron 45 years ago when I met his daughter, Ronie, and he welcomed me into his family. He was a kind person. I had a lot of good times with Ron over the years. We spent a lot of time at the beach and we also went to the mountains. He was a Cincinnati Reds fan but when he came to California he became a LA Dodger fan. We went to a game and we all got a free Brooklyn Dodger ball cap. He wore that ball cap all the time. Ron would always call me up when a main event boxing fight was coming on Pay Per View and we would go down and have chili and watch the fight. We watched a lot of good fights. It was fun hanging out with him. Every time I came down he always had me fixing something which I enjoyed doing for him. I called him the man without a screwdriver. He would laugh. I would also take Ron when it was time to buy a new tv to make sure he got the best one. Ron and I talked about a lot of things from the past to current times. He knew a lot about everything. He was always kind to me and appreciated everything I did for him. I will never forget Ron and I know he was welcomed into heaven.

He meant so much to me—a great grandpa, a kind soul, and the best chef. I miss him deeply and will always treasure the moments we had together. I will always remember him.

When I was young, it was always nice seeing Ron because it meant that my cousin Justin and I would play on his property or swim in his pool. He was a sharp dressed man and wore a flapper hat. He was a businessman with a kind heart. Ron was soft spoken and had a gentleness about him considering he kind of looked like a gangster! lol He always had a roll of cash in his pocket! But he always made me feel welcomed and always had a little smile on his face. Ron and his sweet wife JoAnn complimented each other well. They were a good team and loved each other very much. I'm so thankful I had the privilege to know Ron and his unforgettable Cincinnati Chili that he would make. One of the best soul foods I have ever tasted! We will miss you Ron! Rest in the arms of Jesus.

I know Ronnie was a good big brother to my mom because at one time in my early years, he was our babysitter, so my mom could get to work. He moved his entire family to California from Cincinnati, quite an undertaking if you think about it. He was a good provider and I know he loved his family and they him. I'm so glad I have his best chili recipe and I'm going to make it this year for the super bowl in his honor. Uncle Ronnie, you will be missed so very much. From your niece, Polly.

I remember we all took a trip to the Smokey Mountains. It was 1969 because that's when the new song "Boy Named Sue" was playing on the radio. We all piled in Ronnie's 67 Ford Country Squire station wagon. I sat in the back in one of the two seats that popped out of the floor. We stayed in Pigeon Forge at a place called Mohavin's Cabins. It was right on the little Pigeon River and I remember sleeping on the back porch and I could hear the water running softly over the rocks. We went swimming at the pool in the campground and after swimming me, Ronnie and Steve were in the showers and Ronnie started singing "The Daring Young Man on the Flying Trapeze" and at the end of the song "and my love he has taken away" he hit a low note and the whole building reverberated! We all busted out laughing. It was perfect. To this day it is still the best trip and vacation I have ever had. Ronnie was always a refuge for my mom and our family. We always wanted to go out to his house on Rosetree Lane and hear him sing and laugh. He always lifted my spirits. I loved him and have nothing but appreciation for him as my Uncle and more so my friend. See you soon Uncle Ronnie.

I loved having my Uncle Ronnie in my life and my family's life. He was a clear example of a man being the man he should be. A man who loved his wife and children, always providing for them, looking towards their welfare. He was kind and fun, and I knew he cared about my family too.
