Belinda W. Williams Harrison

Belinda Williams Harrison, age 71, of Conover, passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Born in Burke County, NC on May 3, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Evert McLandon Williams and Lorene Sweezy Fox.

Belinda was an active member of Mt. View United Methodist Church in Claremont where she served on the church council, United Methodist Women and sang in the church choir. She retired after 25 years of service with Central Telephone Company. Belinda then came to work at Drum & Willis-Reynolds Funeral Homes for 13 years before full retirement in 2015. She loved traveling, reading and spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Belinda was a deeply caring person who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 22 years, Robert Baxter Harrison and a brother, Gary M. Williams.

Left to cherish her memory are sons, Ricky A. Hill and wife, Dawn of Hickory, John Michael “Mike” Hill of Maiden, Robert Joseph “Joe” Harrison and wife, Jackie of Conover; daughter, Patty H. Cook and husband, Mike of Conover; brother, Charles B. Williams of Bethlehem; eleven grandchildren, Brandi Hill, Madison Hill, J. R. Hill, Lauren Hill, Kaytlin Hill, Alexis Hill, Dr. Eric Goans, Cliff Cook, Ashley Harrison, Holly Scronce, Angel Estep; seven great- grandchildren, Sophie, Cayden, Caysun, Kenzie, Raven, Zach and Jacob.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 30, 2016 at Mt. View United Methodist Church with Rev. Rich Irwin officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Her family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home in Newton.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Hill, Mike Hill, J. R. Hill, Eric Goans, Donald Williams and Phillip Williams.
