Charlie Wayne Jones

Born November 21, 1940, in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Glenn Murphy Jones and Ethel Southers Jones and retired from General Electric after more than 32 years of employment.

Charlie enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 54 years, Jeanette Jones; son, Charlie Wayne Jones, Jr.; daughters, Dianne Jones Bandy and husband, Jimmy, Teresa Jones Medlin and husband, Jeff; brothers, John Jones, Bob Jones and wife, Maxine; sister, Yvonne Simmerson and husband, Gary; grandchildren, Andrew Bandy, Randy Medlin; 2 lifelong friends, George Lindsey and Jimmy Yancey.

The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2014 in the Chapel of Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home in Newton. Special memories will be shared by his lifelong friend, Jimmy Yancey. Burial will follow at Eastview Cemetery in Newton.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 to 2:45 p.m. at Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home.
