He was born October 6, 1921, in Catawba County to the late Jacob Throneburg and Mary Bollinger Throneburg.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Howard.
Survivors left to cherish his memory are his wife of 70 years, Connie Throneburg; son, Craig Throneburg of Bayonne, NJ; daughter, Caron Almond and husband, Philip of Old Fort, NC; grandchildren, Jeremy Stewart, and Kristen Almond.
A service of remembrance will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 in the Chapel of Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home in Newton with Celebrant Steve McClellan officiating. Burial will follow at Swannanoa VA Cemetery in Black Mountain, NC.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.
