Donald Warren Pendleton, Sr of Hickory, NC passed away June 3, at Carolina Caring, Hospice House. Born in Providence, RI, October 12, 1943, Don moved to S. Florida with his family in 1952. He was a graduate of Ft. Lauderdale High School, Class of ’61. Before relocating to Hickory in 1981, Don was sole owner of Joy Pool Service. He was a member of Catawba Valley Baptist Church, Maiden, until moving to Hickory. Unable to attend live services, Don enjoyed watching Dr. Charles Stanley, In Touch Ministries broadcasts.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Norma Smith Pendleton of the home, and 2 sons, Don Jr and Steve and one sister Judith of Port Angeles, WA. Also survived by 3 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and his 4 legged lap companion, Lily.
A private family celebration of his life will take place at a later date.
