Eugene Elmer Mason Jr.

Eugene “Gene” Elmer Mason Jr., age 85, passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at his residence in Sherrills Ford, NC. Born June 26, 1931, he was the son of the late Eugene Elmer Mason Sr. and Bertha Mae Smith Mason. Gene was a supervisor in the construction industry and a member of Sherrills Ford Presbyterian Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 50 years, Gloria Main Mason and brother, Ronald Mason.

Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Quinton Mason and wife, Debbie of Sherrills Ford, NC, Gromer Buck Mason and wife, Teresa of Burnsville, NC, Eugene E. Mason III of Earl, NC;

daughters, Sandra Bradford and husband Danny of Denver, NC, Zana Mason of Spartanburg, SC; sisters, Shirley Hayes of Tennessee, Barbara Hagy of Florida; multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 23, 2017 at Sherrills Ford Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Rev. Russ Reighley officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at

Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home in Newton, NC.
