

Born April 14, 1921 in Gaston County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Arch Bess and Emma Ledford Bess and was a member of Beth Eden Lutheran Church.
Eva retired after more than 20 years as a middle school teacher. She loved crocheting, knitting, singing and walking. She adored spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Rev. John Paul Rimmer; son, John Thomas Rimmer; brother, Willard Bess; sisters, Ellen Bess and Mary Belle Howell.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Jerry Rimmer and wife, Dianne of Raleigh; daughter, Jane Cadwallader and husband, Joe, of Conover; grandchildren, Justin Rimmer and wife, Hope, Chad Rimmer and wife, Natalie, Jan King and husband, Dean, Jennifer Bateman and husband, Mark, Chris Cadwallader and wife, Suzanne; great grandchildren, Ava Grace Rimmer, Paul Michael Rimmer, Luke Rimmer, Mia Addison King, Bodie Ryan King, Lindsay Bateman, Macyn Alexis King, Meridith Bateman, Hannah Bateman, Nicholas Cadwallader, Harrison Cadwallader, Carrington Cadwallader; and daughter in law, Reeda Rimmer of Salisbury.
The funeral service will be held at 1:30, on Thursday, November 6, 2014, at Beth Eden Lutheran Church in Newton, with Rev. Marcus Ollis officiating. Burial will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Troutman, NC.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Wednesday, November 5, 2014, at Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home in Newton.
