

Born January 27, 1923 in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas O’Resto and Sophia Grabay O’Resto.
Frances was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Newton, where she had previously led the Primetimers group.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Louis D’Amato and her second husband, Biagio Nunziata; brothers, Felix O’Resto, Nicholas O’Resto; and sister, Catherine Scarsella.
Left to cherish her memory are four daughters, Frances D’Amato of Charlotte, NC, Lois Haas and husband, Charles “Bill” of Winchester, VA, Bernadette Clawson and husband, Raymond, of Claremont, NC, Barbara Nunziata of Claremont, NC; sister, Sophia Scicutella of Selden, NY; grandchildren, Lois Mary Henry and husband, Richard, Patricia McKenna, Benjamin Clawson and wife, Jordan, Thomas Clawson, Carl Haas, Andrew Haas; great grandchildren Caroline Henry, and Meghan Henry.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, November 14, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Newton, with Father James Collins and Rev. Mr. Scott Gilfillan officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park in Hickory.
Pallbearers will be Benjamin Clawson, Thomas Clawson, Raymond Clawson, Bill Haas, Denny Schell, and Garry Rufty.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., on Thursday, November 13, 2014, at Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home in Newton with a Rosary service beginning at 7:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 720 W. 13th St., Newton, NC 28658.
