Jeffrey Leon Smyre, 67, of Newton, passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2023. Jeffrey was born on November 22, 1955 to the late Leon Everett and Bernice Sanford Smyre.

The family will receive friends Sunday, July 9, 2023, from 2:00-2:45 pm at St. James Lutheran Church, Newton. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm in the sanctuary, with Pastor Ken Reed officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. James Lutheran Church at, 1942 St. James Church Road,

Newton, NC 28658, or Catawba County Cattlemen's Association at, 1175 S. Brady Ave., Newton, NC 28658.
