

Born January 18, 1969, in Nicholas County, WV, he was the son of James Edward Campbell and Beverly Ann Dobson Campbell.
He was a beloved son, husband, father, friend and high school principal.
Kevin was a graduate of Marshall University, Gardner Webb University, and Appalachian State University. He served Newton-Conover City School System for 21 years beginning in 1994, starting as an Exceptional Children’s teacher until 1999 as well as an athletic trainer. In 1999 he became an Assistant Principal at Newton-Conover High School before serving Newton-Conover Middle School as an Assistant Principal in 2001. He was named the principal at Thornton Elementary, where he served from 2002-2007 before being named as Newton-Conover High School’s principal where he has led for the past 8 years. Kevin was a tremendous role model and mentor to so many students and adults alike over the years.
Kevin was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Newton, where he was currently serving as Chairman of the Deacons; he taught Sunday school and along with his wife, Kim, were leaders of the youth group. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman, and loved spending time with his family, especially being involved in his sons’ activities.
In addition to his parents, James Edward Campbell and Beverly Ann Dobson Campbell of Craigsville, WV, he is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Kim Borton Campbell, of the home; sons, Nicholas Campbell and Nathaniel “Nate” Campbell, both of the home; brother, Ryan Campbell and wife, Michelle of Craigsville, WV; sister, Heather Campbell of Wadesboro, NC; nieces, Madison Campbell, Carissa Campbell; nephew, Mason Campbell; and numerous cousins and extended family.
A service of remembrance and celebration of Kevin’s life will be held at 4:00 p.m., on Friday, May 15, 2015 at Tri-City Baptist Church in Conover, with Rev. Brant Hoots officiating. A private graveside service will be held prior to the service at Southside Cemetery in Newton.
The family will gather to receive friends following the service at Tri-City Baptist Church in Conover.
