Poneeze Mitchem Stallings, 88, passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at her residence. She was born May 20, 1933, in Lincoln County to the late Walter Lee and Junie Emma Haines Mitchem. She was a homemaker and love to garden and grow flowers. She was a member of Corinth Baptist Church and spent years volunteering in the church nursery, most of those years with Mary Fulbright.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Clayton Stallings; son, Danny Clayton Stallings; son-in-law, Donnie Waldon; 6 siblings, Jack M., Richard M., Howard M., Bobby M., Bonnie Killian, and Mildred Brown.
She is survived by son, Ralph E. Stallings (Wanda) of Newton; daughters, Linda S Waldon of Vale, and Sharon S Willis (Rex) of Vale; grandchildren, Olivia Waldon of Vale, Holly Satterwhite of Hickory, Quinn Waldon (Stacie) of Hickory and Casey McCracken (C.J.) of Knoxville, TN; great grandchildren, Addison, Heidi and Logan Bolick, Ashton Satterwhite, Kelsi , Hailee and Lilli Waldon; brother, Ralph Mitchem; special niece Betty Sue Willis; and a number of extended family.
She will lie in state Saturday, October 23, 2021 from 2 to 2:45 pm at Corinth Baptist Church at 7929 W NC 10 Vale.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 3 pm at the Church with Reverend William Kanupp officiating. Burial to follow in the Church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Corinth Baptist Church at 7929 W NC 10 Vale and or to Carolina Caring at 3975 Robinson Rd Newton.
