Robert Allen Branton

Robert Allen Branton, age 86, of Newton, NC, passed away on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at Carolina Caring in Newton, NC. Born January 9, 1935 in White, GA, he was the son of the late Carroll and Miriam Byers Branton.

Robert was proud of his years of service in the United States Air Force. After working with hydraulic lifts for Koala Equipment Company, he owned and operated B & B Equipment Company. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Robert enjoyed fishing, fixing things, auto race tracks and his precious dog, Little Bit. He was an active member of First Baptist Church in Newton where he was a deacon and his special love for children led him to teaching Children’s Sunday School classes.

Robert is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Dorothy Fox Branton; daughters, Lisa Atkins of Newton, NC, Denise Hacker of TN, Darlene Taylor and Debbie Caldwell both of TX; brother, Weldon Branton, age 81, of Taylorsville, GA; sister, Allene Brown, age 100, of Taylorsville, GA; grandchildren, Kyle Burton of Newton, NC, Emily Burton of Mooresville, NC, Katie Burton of Taylorsville, NC and twelve more grandchildren; great-grandchildren, Taydem Burton of Newton, NC, Isaiah Aldridge of Long View, NC and twenty-three more great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; and his precious dog, Little Bit.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 in the Chapel of Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home in Newton, NC with Pastor Tommy Hullette officiating.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home prior to the service.
