William Hebert Borst

William Hebert Borst, age 84, of Conover, loving husband, father and grandfather, died Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Catawba Valley Living at Rock Barn, where he was cared for as family. He was surrounded by his wife, sons, daughters and grandchildren.

Born February 2, 1933 in Cayuga County, NY, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Mary Louise Hebert Borst. He was a graduate of St. Lawrence University, where he met the love of his life, Rita DelMonte. William retired from General Electric as a Human Resource Director and was an US Army veteran. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Newton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Brianna Borst.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Rita Borst; sons, Stephen Borst and Amy Fowler, David Borst and wife, Maxine, Thomas Borst and wife, Selika; daughters, Mary Reitzel and husband, David, Lisa Caporossi and husband, Jeff; grandchildren, William Borst, Michael Borst, Caroline Caporossi, Jenna Caporossi, Nicholas Reitzel, Matthew Reitzel, Branton Borst and Alyciah Gutierrez.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 a.m.on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Rev. James M. Collins will officiate and interment will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the church prior to the service.
