Sandy was born in Teaneck, NJ on June 17, 1943 to the late Alexander Lobban and Isabel (Blaikie) Lobban. A lifelong resident of Sussex County living first in Newton and moving to Fredon in 1950, where he resided on the same piece of property for the next 70 years.
Sandy was a 1961 graduate of Newton High School. He became the owner/operator of AM Lobban and Sons Trucking retiring in 2010. Sandy was a Veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard. He was a member of Yellow Frame Presbyterian Church, a longtime member of the Route 80 White Liners Club, and a former member of the Fredon Volunteer Fire Department.
Sandy was known for his infamous "words of wisdom" and his love of trains, trucks and tractors.
Sandy is survived by his wife of 54 years, Patricia (Pittenger) Lobban, his son David Lobban and his wife Amy of Sandyston, his son Scott Lobban of Fredon, his grandchildren Patrick Lobban and his wife Lanae, Parker Lobban, Hank Lobban and Maggie Lobban.
A celebration of Sandy's life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High Street, Newton.
