Dorothy Mary Gaffney

Dorothy was born on December 24, 1928 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Howard J. and Hortense (Farsari) Caufield. Dorothy grew up in Brooklyn, moved to Staten Island and settled in Englewood, FL 35 years ago. Prior to her retirement she was an Office Manager at NY Telephone Company. Dorothy was also a member of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary.

The beloved wife of the late, Richard Gaffney, she is survived by her step-son, Richard Gaffney, Jr.; her nieces and nephews, Susan Heinsohn, Nancy McCann, Kenneth Caufield, Austin Caufield, Mary Caufield Campbell, Kathleen Daniti, Peter Caufield, Edward Caufield, Thomas Caufield, Christopher Caufield, Dorothy Staub, Barry Ripper, John Ripper, Catherine Price, Tricia Scarpati, Christine Tiwari, James Caufield, Kimberly Cooper, Suzanne Bethke and Jennifer Grebis and many great-nieces and great-nephews. Along with her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her step-daughter, Charla Gaffney; her siblings, Kenneth Caufield, Edward Caufield, Howard Caufield, James Caufield, Agnes Ripper, Evelyn Dripps and Joseph Caufield and her nephew, Kevin Caufield.

A memorial mass will be held on at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 17th at Our Lady of Angels Church, 7320 4th Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11209. Interment to follow at The Green-Wood Cemetery, 500 25th St, Brooklyn, NY 11232.
