Born and raised in Newton, Elizabeth grew up on her family’s dairy farm called the Red Top in Hampton Township, where her love for animals grew from a young age. After graduating from Newton High School, she went on to marry the love of her life, Peter, in 1962. Together they enjoyed many decades raising their four children and later embraced the "snow bird" lifestyle, enjoying warm months in Sparta and retreating to the sunny shores of Florida during the winter. Elizabeth dedicated over 25 years as a postal worker for the USPS in Sparta.
Elizabeth was a passionate reader and was especially fond of romance novels. She loved gardening and her green thumb was evident in the beautiful gardens she nurtured. Elizabeth also had a knack for discovering hidden treasures at flea markets and garage sales, always on the lookout for something unique and special.
Elizabeth leaves fond memories to her beloved husband of over 60 years, Peter Pierson; her four children Deborah Maull, Darlene Pierson (Katherine), Peter Pierson, and William Pierson; her ten grandchildren Walter, Kathrine, David, Christina, Christopher, Nina, Caitlynne, Matthew, Erik, and Joel; and her three great-grandchildren Jasmine, Jennifer, and Savannah.
Elizabeth is predeceased by her parents, Charles and Beatrice Gordon.
