Harry Thomas Meade, 91, former resident of the Paramus Veterans Home, formerly of New Milford, passed away peacefully on December 30th at the age of 91. Harry was a Corporal in the United State Marine Corps. A former New Milford police officer, drove for various local trucking companies. He worked at Red & Tan/Coach USA for over 20 years.
Harry is remembered as a caring, loving and humorous man. He loved his family and friends fiercely. An avid boater for many years he had a great love for water. He also took great pride in all his cars.
Harry is survived by his devoted wife and partner of over 30 years Catherine (nee Rondinara), daughter Melany Durfee (Andrew), son Ralph Meade (Dianne), stepdaughters Melissa Jeune (William), Tara Causey and stepson John Helton (Dana). He is also survived by his sister Louise Quist (William), his grandchildren Warren, Evan, Mason, Cayden, Megan (John), William, John (Christine), Memphis (Matthew), Jordan and Anakin, as well as 2 great grandchildren Cassidy and Victor, and many nieces and nephews. Harry is predeceased by his brother Edward.
A visitation and military honors will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2025, from 12 pm – 2 pm at Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High Street, Newton, NJ.
