Janet Martha Leale, age 91, of McCormick, South Carolina passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2021. Janet was born November 28, 1929 in Brooklyn NY to John and Laura Kramer. Janet was a resident of Byram Township since 1962 before moving to McCormick, North Carolina in 2018.
Janet began a career in 1975 with the Andover Twp. Police Department as a Special Officer, and in later years became the Secretary to the Chief of Police, and the Lakeland Emergency Squad.
In addition to her parents, she is pre-deceased by her late beloved husband, Harold Norman Leale, and her son, Harold N. Leale, Jr. Family and friends were the cornerstone of her life with whom she shared many special times. She is survived by her loving children, Karen Knight, of McCormick, South Carolina and John H. Leale, of Mineral, Virginia, (3) grandchildren: John Harold Leale, Jr., Daniel Stuart Leale and Charles Norman Lessig, in addition to (5) great-grandchildren and her life partner, Theodore F. Beck, Sr. of Netcong, N.J.
Family and friends may attend viewing hours on Sunday, October 31, 2021 from 1:00PM-5:00PM at Smith McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High Street in Newton. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 1, 2021 at 10:00AM at the funeral home with interment to follow at Cypress Hills Cemetery in Brooklyn, NY.
