Jean Pittenger

Jean Pittenger, 95 of Newton, passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Barn Hill Care Center.
Jean was born in Shinnston, West Virginia to the late Marcus and Geraldine (Martin) Malone. She was raised in West Virginia before moving to Sussex County where she lived most of her life. Jean was a wonderful cook and baker. She enjoyed watching sports of all kinds. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, painting yard ornaments and drawing.
The beloved wife of the late Martin Pittenger, she is survived by her beloved children; William Pittenger of Milford, PA, Rhonda Owen and her husband Stephen of Vero Beach, FL, Jeffrey Pittenger of Newton, NJ and Steven Pittenger and his wife Tina of Newton, NJ, many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Along with her parents and husband Jean was predeceased by her daughter Peggy Decker.
All services will be privately held due to COVID-19 concerns. Jean’s final resting place will be at Vaughan Cemetery in Sparta, NJ.

Rhonda and Steve, Sorry to hear of the loss of your Mom. She was a wonderful woman, always concerned about her children and grandchildren. You will miss her. May her memory be a blessing.
