Jean was born in Englewood Hospital and was a longtime resident of Manhattan, NY from 1968 until she relocated to NJ in January of 2023. She graduated from Hunter College in 1976 earning a Bachelor of Arts degree; she was also a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Jean pursued higher education through Fordham University where she earned a Master’s Degree in Business Administration in 1980. She began her career as a flight attendant for Braniff Airlines and PanAm, and then went on to work as an Administrative Assistant for Chemical Bank and worked her way up to Auditor for JP Morgan Chase in Manhattan.
Jean supported several animal organizations throughout her life. She loved reading and crossword puzzles. She had a bubbly, happy disposition and smiled at every person she encountered.
Jean was predeceased by her parents, William and Anna (Arndt) Spreder. She is survived by her niece, Susan Mohr and husband, Gregory; her niece Cindy Durand and husband, Greg; and her sister-in-law, Doris Spreder.
Services are private under the direction of Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High St, Newton, NJ.
