John was born in East Orange, New Jersey on September 8, 1958. He discovered his passion for cars early in life, leading him to attend a trade school in Colorado where he honed the skills that would later aid him in his career as a self-employed mechanic.
Beyond his work life, John was an avid outdoorsman and accomplished hunter. Shooting competitively for most of his life lent to his skill in hunting birds, ducks, and deer. John shared his passion with his community by instructing adults and youth about gun safety and shooting skills. As a devoted car enthusiast and mechanic, John was especially fond of Corvettes and trains.
John was also a proud supporter of United Service Organizations and the Wounded Warriors Project, always eager to give back to those who served our country.
John is survived by his daughter Amy Rawcliffe; his son Andrew Rawcliffe; his grandson Sawyer Clayborne; and his sister Roberta Rawcliffe.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Marilyn Rawcliffe, and his brother Andrew Peter Rawcliffe.
