Joseph D. Schoelier

Joseph, affectionately known as “Joe”, was born in Friesland, Holland on July 1, 1930 to the late Hille and Tina (Algare) Schoelier. Upon relocating to Sussex County, Joe dedicated over 50 years as a farmer prior to his retirement in 1995.

Joe is predeceased by his beloved wife Martha, who passed in 2008, and his daughter Winnie, who passed in 2017. He is also predeceased by his siblings John, Bill, Sidney, Susie and Trudy, and one grandchild, Mandie.

Joe is survived by his children, Henry Schoelier (Amy), Casey Schoelier (Tina), Donnie Schoelier (Ann), and Margie DiCarlo (Fernando); his brothers, Henry and Pete Schoelier; his sisters, Ann Leestra and Judy Tanner; and 10 grandchildren, Henry II, Samantha, Emily, Daniel, Kyle, Ella, Stefanie, Brandie, Cody, and Carlie.

A visitation for Joseph will be held Sunday, April 16, 2023 from 3 pm to 7 pm at Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High St., Newton, NJ 07860. A funeral service will take place Monday, April 17, 2023 at 10 am at Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, followed by his Final Resting Place in Frankford Plains Cemetery, 100 Plains Rd, Augusta, NJ 07822.
