

It is with great sadness that the family of Karl F. Sidnam, Sr. announce his passing on January 27, 2022 in Bradenton, Florida, surrounded by his loving family, to be with our Lord after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He never gave up. He was positive to the end.
Karl was born and raised in Staten Island, NY, prior to moving to the Newton and Stillwater area; he then relocated to Bradenton, FL. Prior to his retirement, he spent 27 years with Allied Signal – Honeywell. He was instrumental in obtaining the contract for Allied with NASA and also held a City of New York, State of New York, and Government position.
Karl went to the Disney Institute and lived by the concept of serving people and helping everyone he met. He made lasting friendships wherever he went. Karl loved fishing, travelled extensively, and was a sublimely gifted artist. He was Kyoshi Sidnam, a Black Belt instructor, and received the Spirit of Isshin Ryu Lifetime Achievement Award as well as the Hall of Fame Award for four decades of service. Karl had a fun-loving sense of humor and loved sharing his stories with anyone who would listen. He loved his family most of all.
Karl was predeceased by his mother, Dorothy; father, Walter; brother, Walter Jr.; and his son, Jason. He is survived by his beloved dog, Blackie; daughter, Sheri Prato and her husband Al; daughter, Kimberly Romagnuolo; son, Karl Jr. and his wife Janelle; son, Mark and his wife Mary; son, David and his wife Sarah; daughter, Jessica; 21 grandchildren; and his extended family Bob Kristenson; Eileen DeFuria and family; Kelly and Marvin Carmono; Glenn Kurtz; La Fay Slone and his loving sister, Dorothy; and brother-in-law, Dan Fortini. Also many friends who loved him for a lifetime.
Karl is gone but will never be forgotten.
A Mass of Christian Burial and Celebration of Life will follow at a later date.
