Patricia was born on March 5, 1945 in Dover, New Jersey to the late Edward and Marcella (McGrath) Urban. Raised in her town of birth, she was a proud graduate of Dover High School’s Class of 1963. Driven by a lifelong calling to help others, she swiftly pursued a career in nursing and graduated from the Orange Memorial School of Nursing in 1966. Patricia went on to serve her community as a dedicated registered nurse for over 51 years before retiring on July 6, 2015—a career marked by empathy, tireless dedication, and grace.
On May 4, 1968, Patricia married the love of her life, Joseph Olivo. Together, they shared an extraordinary bond spanning 57 years. Their journey as partners took them across the globe, from the coastlines of Greece and Spain to the charming streets of Portugal and the rolling hills of Italy—her personal favorite. They also shared unforgettable memories in Hawaii, Mexico, and on countless cruises.
When not exploring the world or caring for others, Patricia found peace in gardening. For 46 years, she and Joseph made their home in Andover Township, where Patricia nurtured her flowers and created a haven for her family. In 2024, they sold their home and relocated to Panther Valley in Allamuchy Township.
Above all else, Patricia’s greatest joy was her family. She cherished the time spent with her loved ones and especially treasured the moments she spent caring for her grandchildren, who brought immense joy and light to her life. She loved to watch her grandchildren excel in all sports they played.
Patricia leaves fond memories to her beloved husband, Joseph Olivo; her son, Patrick Olivo; her daughter, Dionne Rhodes and her husband Gabriel; her sister, Maureen Lyford and her husband John; and her cherished grandchildren, Adrianna, Anthony, and Dante Rhodes.
Services will be held privately under the direction of Smith-McCracken Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a cause Patricia and Joseph generously supported for many years.
