Roland was born on October 13, 1964 to the late Orlando and Olga (Valencia) de la Torre in Manhattan, NY. He was raised in Union City before moving to Ringwood, 28 years ago. Roland was a volunteer for the Union City EMS for many years. He was an avid motorcyclist and liked to go sailing and fishing. He enjoyed being at the beach and hiking with his family. Roland loved to listen to violin music and enjoyed the Harry Potter series.
The beloved husband of Lisette de la Torre, he is survived by his daughters, Nicole de la Torre and her husband Anthony Chamba and Kaitlyn de la Torre and her husband Miguel Rodriguez; his siblings, Elizabeth de la Torre and her husband Luis Garcia, Olga Llerena, Jackie de la Torre and her husband Jeff Orosz, Edward de la Torre and his wife Janet, Mary Fesas and her husband Nelson and Orestes de la Torre, and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family members.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at 12:30 p.m. at Lafayette Federated Church, 180 NJ-15, Lafayette, NJ 07848. An entombment will follow at Newton Cemetery Mausoleum in Newton.
