Tilly was born on May 6, 1929 in Easton, PA to the late Delmont and Elizabeth (Savacool) Tillman and was raised in Blairstown. She worked as a Clerk for A&P in Sussex for 37 years prior to her retirement in 1994.
Tilly was an active member of the Andover United Methodist Church for many years and participated in their many fundraisers and community service events. She was an excellent cook and was known for her English Muffin Bread and soups, which she loved to share with her neighbors. Tilly also enjoyed canning jellies and jams. She was an avid reader and a die-hard NY Mets fan.
In addition to her parents, Tilly was also predeceased by her husband, Ernest “Bill” W. McPeek, Sr.; her son, James McPeek; and her brother, Richard Tillman. She is survived by her son, Bill McPeek and wife, Janice, of Newton; her grandson, Aaron McPeek and wife, Jacqueline, of Upper Chichester, PA; her granddaughter, Katie McPeek and partner, Miles Austin, of Byram Township; her great-granddaughter, Noelle McPeek, and a great-grandchild due in November. She is also survived by her sister, Joyce Race of Blairstown; and many nieces and nephews on both the McPeek and Tillman sides of the family.
