Anna Rose (Mernuck) Fortuna

A true beautiful wife and mother died unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at the Greater Niagara General Hospital, at the age of 80. Our hearts are broken; I’ll miss you for the rest of my life, and I pray to see you again soon. Anna was always very determined in all the things she did. She always wanted to be perfect, just right, and that showed with her gardening, winning multiple Trillium Home Beautification Awards. She loved all things about Christmas, transforming our home into a winter wonderland with Christmas trees in most rooms and Christmas pieces throughout our home. Holiday gathering and cooking were a special time. She was one of a kind. A life full of giving to others. Please God keep her close to you, she loved you so much.

Dear beloved wife of Dominic Fortuna for 40 years, loving mother of John Michael Barnes (Kelly), Christine Goerlitz (Rob), Angela Fortuna, and Jason Fortuna (Christina) and Mother-in-law of Dennis Breen. Cherished grandmother of Amanda (Josh), Colin (Jen), Lauren, Curtis, Rylee, Austin, Chaze, Samantha, Carter and Mila and great grandmother of Hudson, Aiden and Noah. Dear sister-in-law of Andy Fortuna (Eva).

Predeceased by her mother Mary Rose Mernuck, whom she could not stop grieving for her loss, daughter Raeanne Breen, son-in-law Dave Thorpe, siblings Neil Mernuck and Rita Reece.

A private family visitation and cremation took place.

Funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Scapular Church, 6557 Thorold Stone Rd. Niagara Falls on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at 11 am.
