Christopher "Crash" Rideout

It is with great sadness we announce Chris’ sudden passing, at his home, on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at the age of 53. Beloved husband and best friend for 36 years of Laurie (nee Noganosh). Cherished and loving Dad of Natasha (Ryan) Millar and Joe Rideout. Proud and devoted grandfather and Papa to Emma, Angelina, Crystal, and Nathaniel. Chris will be deeply missed by his mother Rose Hewson. Predeceased by his father Archie, step-father Ed Hewson, brother Bob Rideout, and brother in law Norm Noganosh. He will be remembered fondly by his sister in law Norma (Ray) Martin. Dear nephew of Willie, Frank, Josie (Bob) who was also his Godmother, Jean (Dave), the late Joe (the late Elsie), the late Stella, the late Georgette, and the late Madeline (the late Roger).

Chris’ number one priority in his life was his family. He had an immense passion for all things cars though; be it buying, restoring and selling them or just driving them. His favourite family outings were always to hop in the car and take a road trip. His love of driving even crossed over into his line of work with the Highway Patrol of The Miller Group. He was so well known amongst the Niagara OPP and Highway Patrol from his years with The Miller Group. He also loved working on model cars in his downtime. He will be forever remembered as a man who showed immense kindness to others, always going out of his way to help if he was able.

In keeping with Chris’ wishes, cremation has taken place. A private Memorial Service will be held at Hetherington & Deans Funeral Chapel (905-354-5614) on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. by invitation only. The Memorial Service will be livestreamed through the funeral home Facebook page. Following the service, Chris will be buried beside his brother Bob at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations made to The Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
