Peacefully at Millennium Trail Home on Wednesday October 30, 2013, in his 85th year, with his family by his side. Beloved husband for 58 years of Brook (Poulsen) Bruce. Loved father of Wayne Bruce (Jacqueline), Port Elgin, Tracey Bruce (Michael), Toronto. Cherished grandfather of Valerie and Cameron. Doug is predeceased by his brothers Jack (Maisie) and Lauchie (Cathy) and is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Doug was a Line Foreman for Ontario Hydro where he worked both in Simcoe and Niagara Falls before his retirement. He was a Past Master of Norfolk Lodge # 10 and Clifton Lodge # 254 A.F.&A.M. Also an active Member of The Scottish Rite, St. David’s United Church and the Niagara Shrine Club.
Cremation has taken place. The Service of Remembrance to celebrate Doug’s life will be held at St. David’s United Church on Monday November 4, 2013, at 2 PM. The visiting will be from 1 PM Monday until service time at 2 o’clock.
