Passed away at his home in Niagara Falls surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, September 1st, 2012 at 72 years of age. Loving husband of Christine for 51 years. Sadly missed by his daughters Michi, and Ashley(“Bum”) & her fiancé Dave Lacroix; and by his grandchildren James and Aiden. He is survived by his brother Bruce Dickinson & wife Margaret. Fondly remembered by his close friends Bob and Darlene Hawiuk; and deeply missed by “Boomer”. Doug was a longtime employee(over 28 years) of Canada Post, retiring as Manager of Delivery Services, York Division.
In accordance with Doug’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A service of remembrance will be held at Hetherington & Deans Funeral Chapel, 5176 Victoria Avenue, on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at 2 PM.
As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the ALS Society of Canada would be appreciated.
