Predeceased by her parents Arnold Percival and Bertha Farrington, by grandson Kyle Taylor, and by her brothers.
Edith proudly attended and graduated from Stamford CVI. She attended nursing school in Niagara Falls and became one of the most dedicated and compassionate nurses the city has ever known. The nursing school was the original hospital in Niagara Falls, now Eventide Nursing Home. Edith’s nursing career began with the Victorian Order of Nurses and then at GNGH for 40 years. Her kindness and compassion touched the countless lives of her patients and their families. After retiring, Edith went on to volunteer at GNGH as well as Cavandish Manor for 20 years.
Edith was a long-standing member at Christ Church in Niagara Falls. She was active on many of the church’s committees and programs from the after-school reading and math programs to alter guild and bazars and bake sales. One of her favourite charity events was the United Way fashion shows, where she proudly modeled for more than 20 years. Edith loved her gardens and spent hours weeding and manicuring them. She also loved smocking dresses, sewing and knitting. Edith lived a beautiful long life filled with faith, hope and love.
Special thanks to all the staff of Eventide for their kindness and compassion over the last few years. Edith regaled them with many stories from her nursing days.
