Eileen at the age of 85, was the beloved daughter of the late William and Irene MacCarthy. Devoted sister of Gerry (Judith) MacCarthy and Kathleen June (the late Russ Butcher). Predeceased by her brothers Denis and Brian. Sadly missed by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Eileen graduated from Teacher’s College in 1959 and retired from teaching after more than 35 years. While teaching in Hamilton, she completed an Anthropology Course at Wilfrid Laurier in 1978 and also went back to school in 1984 to earn her Bachelor’s Degree from McMaster. Eileen loved to always learn and that made her a wonderful teacher. She loved music and animals. Eileen never forgot how important her family was to her.
In keeping with Eileen’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at Hetherington & Deans Funeral Chapel, 5176 Victoria Avenue, Niagara Falls (905-354-5614) on Monday, June 23, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Stanley Avenue, Niagara Falls.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Niagara SPCA and Humane Society would be appreciated.
