Peacefully passed away at the Greater Niagara General Hospital on Sunday, December 8, 2013 at the age of 83 years. She will be sadly missed by her family; her daughter Gail and her partner Jack Synes, her grandchildren Michael and Samantha and her great-grand-daughter Scarlett. Predeceased by her dear friend Orville (Frank) Farr. She was the dear sister of Russel (Aleda) Johnston, Murray (Jeannie) Johnston, Larry (Sandra) Johnston, Marilyn Langille, Bernice (Edward) Taras, and her sister in law Linda Johnston (wife of the late Gordon). She was also predeceased by her parents Wesley and Annie Johnston, her brothers; William Johnston and Gordon Johnston and her sister Leona (the late Oreland) Lieden. She will be lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at HETHERINGTON & DEANS FUNERAL CHAPEL; 5176 Victoria Ave. (905-354-5614). A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow in Lundy’s Lane Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations in Evelyn’s honour to the First Niagara Scouts would be appreciated by the family.
