PENOR, George Patrick - Born in Toronto, Ontario on March 13, 1946 and passed away peacefully and on his own terms on July 30, 2025 at Meadows of Dorchester LTC, Niagara Falls. He was predeceased by the love of his life Marie (nee Mikulcic, May 8, 2024), as well as siblings William Breadmore, Walter Penor, Florence Biery, Thomas Penor, Russell Breadmore, Lillian Burns and Maryann Antonelli. He is survived by his children Chris Penor and Lori Anne Penor-Trude, brother Richard Penor, sister-in-law Rose Sekulic and brother-in-law and sister-in-law John and Natalie Mikulcic. Also survived by his four grandchildren; Lindsay, Brooke, Branden and Bailee, and numerous nieces and nephews.George worked for many years as a salesman for Harwin-Hardox Building Supply. He enjoyed fishing in northern Ontario and did some deep sea fishing in Florida. He not only played baseball but loved watching his Blue Jays, and was a big fan of the Boston Bruins. Outings to Fallsview Casino, where he was known as "the candy man", pockets always filled with candy; or breakfast at the Pancake House were always in the cards. Speaking of cards, he would be hard pressed to pass up a good euchre game. He also enjoyed tending to his flower gardens and did some woodworking when he retired. Some would say he was a little rough around the edges, but he had a good heart, loved a good joke and would always be the first to help. The family would like to thank the staff at Meadows of Dorchester for their excellent care, compassion and understanding. George was not their typical resident and was known to challenge the rules. Let's just say most staff members and some residents knew him by name and he stole their hearts with his quirky humour.Friends are invited to join the family at Patterson Funeral home, 6062 Main St., Niagara Falls, on Thursday August 7, 2025 from 10 am to 11 am. A Funeral Service celebrating his life will follow at 11 am at the funeral home, with an interment to follow at Fairview Mausoleum. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to Heart Niagara or the Walker Family Cancer Centre. Online condolences may be shared at pattersonfuneralhome.com.
