Hugh Patrick Maloney

MALONEY, Hugh Patrick - Passed away peacefully Sunday December 13, at the age of 83. Loving husband of Mary (neé Devlin) for 60 years. Beloved father of Arlene (Mike) Parlevliet and cherished grandfather of Jackson, Monique, and Michelle Parlevliet, all of Ennismore. Dear brother of Paul (Joanne) of Hamilton, Margaret Jewiss (Greg) of Oakville and many nieces, nephews and their children. Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Anastasia (Cavanagh), his beloved son David and his brothers James, Bernard, Gerald and Terrance. Born in Niagara Falls, Hugh attended Brock University, where he earned a BA with distinction in 1971. He worked for CN Rail and retired from Via Rail in 1990. As a young husband and father, he learned to love camping in Ontario's beautiful Provincial Parks and he introduced his children and their friends to the adventures of camping. In retirement he had the joy of spending whole summers with his grandchildren in those same parks. He was an avid reader of the Toronto Star, a generous host, a cheerful guest; one who quietly enjoyed the company of family and friends. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and brother who will be greatly missed.  Friends are invited to call at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. visiting Saturday 11 am - 1 pm. A Funeral Service in celebration of his life will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Private family interment will follow.
