Ida Di Gioacchino

Passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at the age of 89. Beloved wife of the late Giovanni Di Gioacchino, loving mother of Carlo (Lorraine Bortolussi) and Bruno (Dianne Daniel). Cherished Nonna of Martina, Vanessa (Marcus Seegmiller), Danielle (Travis Thatcher), and Patrick. Cherished Bisnonna of Colette, Porter, and Florence. She was predeceased by her siblings Paolo, Pio, Giovanni, Luciano, Quinto, Maria, and her brothers-in-law Domenico and Francesco. She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Carmela and Filomena. Lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews in Canada and Italy. A special thank you to the staff at Chapel Heights and Bayshore Healthcare, in particular Dr. Swatski, for all of her compassionate care. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 18th, 2025, from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM at Patterson Funeral Home (6062 Main St., Niagara Falls, Ontario). A Funeral Mass will take place at Our Lady of the Scapular Church (6557 Thorold Stone Rd, Niagara Falls, Ontario) on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 1 PM. An entombment at Fairview Mausoleum will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (Breast Cancer).
