Jerry VanKleef

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Jerry, after a brief illness, at his home on Saturday, May 14, 2011 in his 65th year. Loving husband of the late Joanne VanKleef (2010). He leaves behind his son Russell, daughter Ingrid, and grandson Lance Biamonte Jr., all of Niagara Falls, Ontario. He is survived by his loving mother Elvera, his brother Peter (Gwen), and his nephews Philip (Rhonda) of Niagara Falls and Paul VanKleef of California. Dear and loving friend of Heather Matte. He will be fondly remembered by his Mother and Father in law, Mario and Barbara Fonzi as well as all his extended family and friends. Predeceased by his father Pieter (2002). Jerry was a longtime employee of Thorold Paper/Abitibi-Bowater. After years of working in family businesses he settled into owning and operating the Eastwood Tourist Lodge Bed & Breakfast with his wife Joanne over the last 20 years, and enjoyed his time spent in the outdoors up north.

Family and friends will be received at a memorial visitation at Hetherington & Deans Funeral Chapel, 5176 Victoria Avenue on Tuesday, May 17 from 7 – 9 pm. A celebration of his life will be held in the chapel on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Walker Family Cancer Centre would be appreciated.
