Dear Ryan & Family, sorry that I didn’t hear about Joanne’s death sooner. We used to write songs together years ago. We were in Kinmount (hence the picture of the house on the hill) when Princess Diana died. Joanne was so upset. I hope that you have a copy of her glorious voice singing. I have a recording of the House on the Hill which Joanne wrote and sang in a recording studio. I wasn’t able to upload it here, but if you don’t have a copy, I’d love to share it with you. I am sorry for your loss Ryan. I loved Joanne with all my heart. I can't stop from tearing up when I reminisce on all the good times we had. The deep conversations we had where we could tell each other anything.

My condolences also goto Joanne's family in Nashville. We used to talk about the kids all the time. Candy will miss you guys. Especially the little chef who she gushed about all the time.

Joanne was so happy and took joy in seeing other people happy. 

I have so many fond memories of Joanne. She got me into country music when I thought I'd never like it. Now I listen to songs and all they do is remind me of her. I can still hear her sing Tennesse orange in my head.

This world has lost a beautiful soul way too soon.  Joanne was a good friend to me for many years and she has left me with some wonderful memories.  When my daughter Lauren passed away Joanne sang at her funeral and blessed us with the memory of listening to her on a difficult day.  She made that day somewhat bearable and I will never forget what she did for our family that day. I accompanied Joanne on the guitar while she sang at a wedding and at a fundraraiser for the Conservatory of Music and she made me sound way better than I was because she was such a talent. She had such an encouraging and beautiful way about her.  Please accept Elena and my condolences and know that our thoughts are with you. xo

Bill, my condolences on the passing of your sisters. My wife told me that Joanne had passed when she read the article and saw the names of your mom and dad and knew how close they were to me. When I read the announcement I was shocked to see that Val had passed also not too long ago. The last time I saw Val was at the Big Apple with your mom and dad and the folks from Lubrizol. Joanne  was working the lower bridge when your dad and I came back from the Texas  A & M fire school. I hope all is well with you and you are still enjoying the far north. Again, my condolences. We are so sorry to hear of Joanne’s sudden passing.  We lived next door to Joanne and her parents in the 70’s and we always had a blast while visiting with one another and coming over to share dinner.  We’ll take comfort knowing that when the pain subsides the fond memories will take over.

My sincerest condolences to Ryan and Bill, too soon was she taken...I first met Joanne when she sang with the group "Double Scotch" in the Falls, her beautiful voice transcending any song she sang. In my heart I can hear you singing "Amazing Grace, and Flower of Scotland". Heaven has another beautiful Angel in the Choir. I worked with Joanne at CBSA (Queenston Bridge), and remember her robust laughter and smiling face, she was always available to lend her advice and support, as co-worker, and as a Bridge Chief. Many years later, I would see Joanne again, this time at the Lundy Manor Retirement Home, where she would call Bingo for the residents, one of whom was my mother Rose, who had befriended Jo's parents, Bill and Emily. Joanne, you have touched so many people with you awesone lifeforce...you will be truly missed! Rest in Peace Jo.

Joanne became our friend through my husband’s job in Nashville, Tennessee.  She was a bright, optimistic and fiercely loyal lady with a contagious laugh and such ready witt.  She had a huge heart and it was such a joy to be “adopted” into her maternal sphere.  She adored life and could turn the most mundane activity into adventure! I loved exchanging recipes and was delighted when she told me I got a gold star in her book because I also said “ Happy Christmas!”  May the light she shared so effortlessly keep you all warm with her memory.  Special people like her are rare and golden.  God bless her precious loved ones.  She will watch over you still. 

I was fortunate enough to have met Joanne and spend a wee bit of time with her on my visits to Ontario. It is a measure of the extraordinary person Joanne was that she made such an immediate and lasting impression on me💕 In so many ways, Joanne defined what it means to be a good and true friend, something I was privileged to witness in person and through the many, many stories her dear friend (and mine) Melissa told me. To Ryan and Billy I am truly sorry for your loss. To all of the people that have been blessed with her love, compassion, laughter, friendship, music and her zest for life I am also sorry. Jo Jo was a genuine friend to all of us. We all have gained an Angel. My sister Lori and I grew up in the neighborhood. We went through school together and in 1988 her and I spent some time together in GNGH giving birth to our children. I also worked with Jo Jo at Lococos. Everyone loved her. We made memories. When I first heard of your passing I was in shock. No surely not, not possible. Jo, you were always larger than life. Your presence would take over a room. I so admired you in high school. Everybody wanted to be near you, to be able to say that you were a friend. This gift never left you and you became even more larger than life as the years went on. You were and are a caring, selfless personality. You brought me sourdough bread. Me, I was nobody, but you made me feel so special. Jo, nobody will ever come close to you and you will be so missed. Fly high angel!  What a legacy you left for Ryan.
