On June 18, he reluctantly left his beloved wife and best friend of 51 years, Josephine, and the children of whom he was so proud, Maria Slivia (Mario), Arnie (Anna), Joe (Tanya), and Dave (Sheena), and the grandchildren he adored, Julia, Matthew, Andrew, Luke, Alice, Madeline, Dante, Lyla, Hudson, Logan and Dax. He was the dedicated son of Silvia Magnotta and Arnaldo Magnotta (predeceased). He will be deeply missed by his brothers Mike (Victoria), and Victor (Mary Ann), sister-in-law Annie (Maurice) and many wonderful uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews here and in Italy.
Joseph’s legacy is one of love and dedication to his family. He demonstrated the value of hard work all his life and he enjoyed the people he met along the way. He was most proud of the family business, Magnotta Brothers Painting, where he worked with his beloved brothers for more than 40 years. Joseph liked traveling, playing the drums, gardening, wine making, bocce and telling stories about his life in Italy. He loved watching his children and grandchildren in all of their pursuits, but especially hockey and soccer. What he cherished the most were the family gatherings filled with food and laughter with any of his relatives near or far.
Cremation has taken place. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME. Friends are invited to join the family for a Funeral Mass on Saturday, June 24 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Alfred’s Church, 272 Vine St., St. Catharines, ON.
As an expression of sympathy memorial donations may be made to Community Care Niagara. Online condolences at pattersonfuneralhome.com
