Kenneth 'Ken' Olsen

OLSEN, Kenneth 'Ken' Charles - Passed away peacefully at the St. Catharines General Hospital on Saturday July 1, 2023 at the age of 72. Beloved husband of 50 years to Joanne (nee Downing). Cherished father of Greg (Katy) Olsen, Kristen (Paul) Dallaire and loving grandfather of Kaitlyn, Kaili and Sunny. Dear son of Margaret (nee Kanola) and the late Arnold Olsen (2021). He will be fondly remembered by his brother-in-law Richard (Joanne) Downing. He attended AN Myer Secondary School and went on to earn his CGA designation. With a meandering career path taking him from accountant to company President, entrepreneur to television actor / producer, Ken was fortunate enough to follow his whims and amass quite a collection of stories along the way. In retirement he took pride in his 'Papa' duties, always making sure his granddaughters had a fun place to grow up. He rekindled his love of music, recording songs under the name 'Catching Pies' and fed his curiosity by reading about ancient aliens, quantum physics and the mysteries of the universe. He spent his last few winters living the slow life and golfing in Mexico with Joanne. With a vibrant personality and unmistakable laugh, Ken was hard to forget. He was caring, hospitable and never short on words. He will be missed dearly by all his family and friends. Cremation has taken place. Friends are invited to join the family at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls, for a gathering of friends on Tuesday July 18, 2023 from 12 pm to 2 pm.
