

JOHNSON, Lancelot 'Lance' Claude - It is with great sadness that we announce that after a two-year battle with lung cancer Lancelot 'Lance' Claude Johnson passed peacefully in his sleep at his home in Niagara Falls, Ontario on Thursday February 2, 2023, at the age of 86. Born on March 1, 1936, in Spalding, Clarendon, Jamaica, he grew up in Spalding, the youngest boy until he immigrated to London, England. Lance met and married Cynthia in London, England and emigrated from London to Ontario Canada. Lance is survived by his wife Cynthia (nee McKenzie), his son Michael, daughter Dareni (David) and grandchildren Natasha, Naomi, Jordan, Jazmine, Jade. He will be fondly remembered by his sisters Thelma, Monica (Ahmed), Alice (Ivan), & sister-in-law Edna. Predeceased by his parents David and Daisy Johnson, brothers Enos 'Vin' (Vie), George, Oscar 'Lloyd', Everett (Joyce), sisters Muriel, Norma 'Gloria' (Jimmie), Millie (Ernest). Cherished uncle to numerous nieces and nephews throughout Canada, The United States and Europe. Lance was a master finishing carpenter who had a great sense of humor. He loved to play golf, cricket and was an excellent cricket bowler, he collected stamps, all things about the royal family, old currency (coins and bills) and records. He played guitar and made some 45’ records in his youth. He spent much of his life in Niagara Falls and has left behind many friends and family. Friends are invited to join the family at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls, visiting Friday February 10, 2023 from 6 to 8 pm and Saturday February 11, 2023 from 2 to 4 pm. A Funeral Service in celebration of his life will be held at 4 pm at the funeral home. Cremation will follow, the interment to follow at a later date in Fairview Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest with his youngest son Jeremy Johnson.
