Lucia Bianco

BIANCO, Lucia Domenica (nee Ioannoni) - The family of Lucia Bianco are saddened to share the news of her passing at home, peacefully with her family at her side, on Wednesday June 21, 2023 at the age of 89. She is now to be reunited with her loving husband Giacomo (January 2022). Heartbroken are her children Paola (Bob) Lawrence, Vince (Diana) Bianco and Gabriella (Mark) Griffiths. She will be lovingly missed by her grandchildren Michelle (Nick) and Elissa Lawrence, Matteo and Isabella Bianco, Bianca and Ellanore Griffiths. She is also survived by her adoring brother Vince (Anna) Ioannoni, who will miss her terribly and her sister-in-law Giovanna (the late Angelo) Mele. Zia Lucia will be missed by many nieces and nephews here, in Italy and in Belgium. Predeceased by her sisters Maria (Alessandro) Pelusi, Ilde (Aldo) Scarpone, Elda (Quintino) DiGiosia, Elvira (Fernando) DiBattista, Elena (Angelo) Buono, Italia (Carlo) Palucci, as well as siblings-in-law Antonietta (Giuseppe) Sposato, Giuseppe (Gemma) Bianco, Francesco Bianco and Francesco Bianco II. Lucia was born in Teramo, Italy to parents Carmine and Lucia Ioannoni. Lucia was trained and worked as a seamstress in Italy. She immigrated to Canada in 1963 to join her brother Vince and sister Maria. She started working at 1-Hour Dry Cleaning where she met her husband Giacomo. She continued to work as a seamstress and supported Giacomo after he started his own business 'Jack Bianco Custom Tailoring' by working at home after hours while being a full time mother. When her children were grown she went to work at Sicilian Gardens restaurant. By far, her favourite job was being a Nonna. She loved and spoiled her grandchildren to no end. Lucia loved cooking for her family and gardening. She was a hard working woman who would take on any job without asking for help. She would do this all dressed in her nice clothes, hair perfectly styled and wearing her red lipstick. Everyone has a wonderful memory of Lucia, so please keep those close to your hearts. We will love you forever Ma. Friends are invited to join the family at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls, visiting Monday June 26 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday June 27, 2023 at 10 am at St. Thomas More Church, with the Rite of Entombment to follow at Fairview Mausoleum.
