Passed away peacefully at the Eventide Home on Sunday December 1st, 2013 in her 98th year.
Beloved wife of the late Reginald “Reg” Davies (1991). Dear mother of Janet Elizabeth (Chris) Harrop of Toronto. Loving grandmother of Jennifer (Lindsay) of Toronto, Stephen (Crystal) of Toronto and Michael Harrop of New York City. Great-grandmother to Hannah, Eddie and Sasha. Predeceased by her brother Albert Wood and her two sisters, Helen Glennie and Mabel MacPherson. Jean taught school for many years in Niagara Falls until her retirement in June 1975. She was fond of music and was a 20 year member of the “J Singers” choir. She enjoyed playing bridge and was fond of basketball, tennis, badminton, golf and curling. She was an active member of St. Andrew’s United Church in Niagara Falls. In keeping with Jean’s wishes cremation has taken place. The family will receive family and friends at HETHERINGTON AND DEANS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 5176 Victoria Avenue, Niagara Falls on Friday December 6th, 2013 from10:30-11:30am with Memorial Service to follow immediately thereafter and a private interment at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens in Fonthill, Ontario. Donations to St. Andrew’s United Church would be appreciated.
