Mary Barbara Cahill

CAHILL, Mary Barbara (nee Fritz) - Passed away suddenly at the Greater Niagara General Hospital on Wednesday June 26, 2013 at the age of 81. Beloved wife of the late John Cahill (1996). Dearly loved mother of Peggy (Les Potapczyk), Tim and Carole Cahill of Ecuador, Terry and Gina, Tom and Joanne of Kitchener, Susan (Bob Hamill) of Sarnia, Donald and Valerie, Peter and Mary, and Robert and Liette. She was the very proud grandmother of 19, Melanie (Simon Jones), Brian and Michael (Nancy) Potapczyk; Michael, Lindsay, Kaitlin and Alicia Cahill; Matthew and Mya Cahill; Kevin (Beth) Hamill and Pamela, Holly (Mike Portiss); Christopher and Catharine Cahill; Melissa, Steven and David Cahill; Eric and Ryan Cahill. Mary leaves behind seven great-grandchildren, Madeline Potapczyk; Alexandria and Samuel Potapczyk; Scarlett Jones; Ziah Hamill; and Mikayla and Mason Portiss. Dear sister of Marnie Lyons of Guleph. Mary supported John as a devoted wife and mother, she was the mainspring of the family, she kept it running smoothly with devotion and love. Mary and John enjoyed their family and friends at euchre, bowling Knights of Columbus and travelling. Everyone, including grandkids and great-grandkids received their anniversary and birthday cards each month. Her chocolate chip cookies were indescribable. After 17 years of "holding down the fort" she joins John in eternity. She will be missed Friends are invited to call at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls visiting Saturday 7-9 p.m. and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral service in celebration of her life will be held on Monday at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. In memory of Mary donations in lieu of flowers to Heart Niagara or the MS Society (Niagara Chapter) would be appreciated by her family.
